Requesting Training and Access

Data warehouse training and access is available only to pre-authorized Virginia Tech employees. The Data Stewards for the particular University administrative subject areas pre-authorize user access to the data marts. The Data Stewards are university staff (typically at the level of Controller, Registrar, or Admissions) who oversee the capture, maintenance, and dissemination of data for their operations. The Data Stewards require that warehouse users attend a Data Mart Training Class in order to have access. IWA works together with the Data Stewards’ staffs to deliver Data Mart Training for each data mart. Each class focuses on what data is stored in a particular data mart, what the data means, and how to use the data appropriately and effectively.

IWA also offers a Hyperion In-depth Tool Training Class for users who have attended a Data Mart Training Class and want to learn more about using Hyperion Intelligence Client to develop their own queries.
