VT WSUS Firewall Warnings
VT WSUS requires the following permanent rules:
- Allow vtwsus.exe outgoing connections to wsusmaster.cc.vt.edu (198.82.161.12) on port TCP 8555
- Allow ViewSettings.exe outgoing connections to wsusmaster.cc.vt.edu (198.82.161.12) on port TCP 8555
During installation, the following warnings may need to be allowed:
- Program VT WSUS vx.x.exe trying to connect to download.microsoft.com on port TCP 80
- Program VT WSUS vx.x.exe trying to connect to update.microsoft.com on port TCP 80
- Program VT WSUS vx.x.exe trying to connect to download.windowsupdate.com on port TCP 80
- Program InstallHelper.exe trying to connect to wsusmaster.cc.vt.edu (198.82.161.12) on port TCP 8555
When uninstalling, you may need to temporarily allow the following warning:
- Program UninstallHelper.exe trying to connect to wsusmaster.cc.vt.edu (198.82.161.12) on port TCP 8555
